introduced some controversial bills like iilbert bill in
india which provided equal status for indian and european
judged,introduced vernacular press actwhich gave complete
freedom for indian newspaper to express their views,and
introduced first factory act and he is known as the father
of LOCAL SELF GOVT IN INDIA.
