why power generate in 33 kv it will be step down by 11 kv .

Normally all generating stations will generate voltage less
than 11Kv since of the isulation above 11kv, the size of
the equipment will increase. For transmission it has been
stepped up for reducing the loss in transmission &
generally the distribution system will operate on safe
voltages ie <4440V.
