xy-x+2y = 6
y(x-x)+2y = 6
y+2y = 6
3y=6
y=2
now place the value of y in the same equation
xy-x+2y = 6
x*2-x+2*2 = 6
2x-x+4 = 6
x+4 = 6
x = 6-4
x = 2
so xy=c
2*2=c
c=4 and 4 is the ans
