why does chattering take place in ac contactors?
can it be avoided & what care does the manufacturer take to
eliminate this phenomenon????
Answer Posted / reshi
Chattering will occur when there is no perfect contact
within the contactor, when chattering occurs the two
contacts may get weld together. This may cause a danger when
it is required to open the circuit or required to stop the
motor from the remote option.Chattering may also occur if
the contactor is undersized w.r.t load current.
