Why Clock rate command is not configured on ethernet

clock rate command is applied only in DCE interface not DTE
and DCE allows device for clocking and synchronising not
DTE.and DCE always connect via serial link not ethernet.so
how u will use ethwenet for clocking if it not supporting
with dce?
