treasury in capital markets are treasury shares which are
bought back by the company from the open market . the
shares that have been purchased from open market through
buyback can either be destroyes or retained. the shares so
retained are known as treasury shares and shown in the
balance sheet of company under the head SHAREHOLDER EQUITY
as a negative figure(CONTRA EQUITY)
