Snapshot is nothing but a exact photo copy of the
report.Once we save the report in .imr format,we never
modify that report.

thumbnail is used for testing purpose and how many rows u
want to dispaly in page.

how to create calculate column in report studio

Answer

There are two ways to create a calculated data item.
1)By using a Query calculation object.
2)by using a data item in query explorer.

example:
i want calculate revenue with existing data items sales
and price.
revenue=sales*price
steps:
1)go to query explore
2) drag a query from tool box
3) add data items (sales,price) from datasources into query
4) drag a data item from toolbox
5)write an expression (sales * price)
6)rename as Revenue for that data item in properties pane.
7)drag those three values into report page.

Can someone tell me whether we can apply filter on list of
values in the 'Value Prompt'? e.g. I have a value prompt
(named city) and the prompting is holding around 2000
cities but I want to apply filters on cities so users can
select only 15 cities out of 2000 and then run the report.
Users should be flexible enought to select any 15 cities
from the list. Is it possible. Please advice!

Answer

Step1:take a list report with country column.
step2:create a value prompt based on country.
step3:go to query explorer
step4: select query-2 based on value prompt.
step5: drag country query item into detailed filter.
step6: write a filter condition like(country in
'india','china',............)
step7:run the report

Diffenetly u will get what requirement u have to do.

What is the usage propertys in Framework Manager?n Ie we set EMP ID as a Fact and what will happen?Actullay EMPID is a Identifier....

Answer

Usage property is nothing but to set the data item values
either as an ATTRIBUTE,IDENTIFIER,FACT.
IDENTIFIER and FACT represent numeric values but the
difference is whenever database contains key values then we
have to set as an identifier otherwise FACT in Framework
manager.
EMPID contains primary key value at database side then in
framework manager we have to set as FACT for that.it will
gives the results as a sum in reprtstudio.
