Question { 14509 }

when does one exert greater pressure on ground during
walking or standing? why ?
what happends to the period of a simple pendulum taken into
a deep mine

Answer

We human beings walk by lifting one leg, placing it in the
front, then lifting the rear leg, and placing it in the
front; and the cycle continues. Since pressure is nothing
but force per unit area, thus during standing, we place our
weight on both legs in general, and during walking, we place
our weight on one leg most of the time. Thus, the area
through which our weight acts during walking is less than
the same during standing. So, we exert greater pressure
during walking.
Inside a deep mine, the accelaration due to gravity,g,
decreases..the rest is there in formula.

Question { 2584 }

the force of attraction of earth on a man, who is inside
the artificial satellite, is Zero
state whether the above statement is correct, if not
correct please give the correct answer

Answer

Not Correct
The force of attraction by earth on the man is not zero, but
the resultant force on the man is zero inside the satallite.
This happens as the constantly changing direction of the man
produces a fictitious force, called the centrifugal force,
which balances the gravitational attraction of the earth.

Question { ABC, 3661 }

while climbing a hill we bend forward. give a scientific
reason for the same

Answer

An essential condition for standing under earth's gravity is
that the line denoting the direction of our weight(which is
a force) must intersect the ground in the area between our
our feet. Our centre of gravity lies somewhere near our
navel, through which the net force of attraction passes. If
you walk upwards a hill by being upright, our body is
basically inclined w.r.t the horizontal plane to an extent
such that the resultant force of gravity on our body
intersects the ground behind our feet. As a result, to
remain standing, we need to make force vector to intersect
the horizontal plane in between our feet. We do this by
bending our body forward.
(The principle is same as the case that we fall when bend
too much forward or backward.)

Question { 2975 }

why can't we think out of this universe

Answer

The universe, by definition, contains everything that
exists. How can you, then, think out of the universe??
Jokes apart, whenever we think about something, we think
in terms of time and space, both of which are not defined outside
the Universe,and even cannot be defined outside the Universe. So
it is not possible to think anything outside this universe.

Question { 3962 }

WHY DOES NOT BYCYCLE FALL WHEN IT RUNNING CONDITION ?
WHEN IT FALL WHITOUT STAND. WHY ?

Answer

Briefly because of the law of consevation of angular
momentum of the bicycle wheels. When ridig bicycle, we
transfer our weight continuously on both side of the bicycle
at a rapid speed. This produces a dynamic equillibrium which
prevents gravity to distort the balance of the bicycle.

When its not in motion, there is no question of conserving
any momentum, and it falls merely under the force of gravity.

Question { 4376 }

What is the life of permanent magnet and what type of
magnet is used in speakers?

Answer

Life of a magnet is the time through which it can retain its
magnetism. For a permanent magnet, its domains are always
aligned properly; so its life is theoretically infinite.
However, in practical case, earths magnetism tends to induce
polarities according to the alignment of the magnet. Still
the life is very high(several years or centuries if left
undisturbed)
For obvious reasons, a permanent magnet is normally used in
speakers
