Question { Hathway, 15050 }

What is BGP Synchronization rules?? Can any one explain..???

Answer

BGP synchronization rules states that

"Do not use or advertise to an external neighbors a route
learned by IBGP until a matching route has been learned from
IGP."

R1--------R2-------R3------R4

Here in this scenario R1 & R4 running IBP where R2 & R3
running sme IGP protocol.

As we know, for IBGP, neighbors don't need to have directly
conneted. Now when R1 tries to establish TCP session with
R4, it wud be successful to establish a session but when
updates message will come to R2 router which running IGP
(Such as OSPF/EIGRP/RIPv2) this R2 router aware of router
R4. No entry exist for path to reach R4.

As we know, router drops all the packet for unknown destination.

so all we hv to do is to sychonized the IBGP & IGP though
command. Once they synchronised with each other then only
any packet destined for R4 willbe able to pass though R2 & R3.

By default synchronization is on in all BGP running router.
Best practice to off it if all the router within the AS
running BGP.

Question { Hathway, 39258 }

What is SIA (Stuck in Active) in EIGRP?

Answer

If the successor path is lost & there is no feasible
successor path is available, router sends out query messages
on all EIGRP enable interfaces & tries to find out an
alternative path to the network. It is active state for that
route.

Now Router is waiting for reply from its neighbors. If reply
is missing for 3 min, dat means router didn't get any reply
from neighbors, then it becomes stuck in active.

In this case, router reset the neighbor relationship with
the router who didn't replied back the query messages sent
by the router.

To solve this problem, two method is used -

a) Router summarization
b) EIGRP Stub.

To disbale the stuck in active timer, the following command
is used -

Router(config-router)# timers active-time disable.

Question { 4812 }

Hi, Jitendra thanks for giving me answer of intervlan
routing. it helps me to clear my concepts. Actually I am
appearing for CCNA globel Certification exam in next month
can some provides me tips for preparing exams. for ex.
Notes, dumps on my email. umesh.pede402@gmail.com

Answer

Hi this is Shahin. Jitendra's frnd.... nice to see u in
allinterview.com..

All the best in advance.. well.. for CCNA exam prep.. my
suggestion wud be ..go thru ICND1 & ICND2 books of WENDELL
ODOM. This is the best books so far i got for CCNA exam. See
all the multiple question given on that books.

Apart from that, i m giving links of few website u can
download books, dumps & few exam question patterns..

Check it out...

Question { 2801 }

Hi, Jitendra/Shahin

You both are masters of networking na. I am worrying about
my exam. Is it vey tough?because my friend got failed in
ccna. he is very talented person thogh he failed.

Answer

First of all, wanna say.. we r not masters..... still
learning abt cisco networking & hopefully it will continue
till death.!!!

See buddy, Exam pass & fail little bit depends on luck.....
Hard working pays u always but need some sort of luck to be
success. (According to me)

Don't worry about exam buddy... Don't think about money
anytime (I mean to say exam fees).... otherwise ur
confidence level will be drop down. Just think about its a
normal exam of multiple choice. U r trying hard to pass that
exam.

As me & Jitu suggested on earlier post how to prepare for
exam.. go though that process...Hope u'll get success.

Question { 4082 }

hi shain/sudeep and rest of all plz answer these question
for help some one as soon as possible

what is stub area
what is transit area
let there are three area in ospf a0 a2 and a3 if a2 and a3
is coneted
through each other will they comnicate

Answer

Transit area: Transit area are used to pass traffic from an
area that is not directly connected to backbone area.
Transit area doesn't originate that traffic and is not the
destination for those traffic.

By definition we can say that OSPF area 0 is a transit area.

what is stub area
what is transit area

Answer

Stub Area: Stub area is defined as area which can accept
intra-area routes (LSA 1 & LSA 2), Inter-area routes (LSA 3
& LSA 4) but don't accept any external routes (LSA 5) that
is redistributed in OSPF area. A backbone area will
advertise a default routes to a stub area or a network
summary LSA for the destination 0.0.0.0

Stub area limitation are -
a. Stub area can't include virtual links
b. Stub area can't include an ASBR.
c. Stubbiness must be configured on all routers in the area.

Question { 3667 }

What are the job opportunities i will get once i complete
my CCNA certification.

Answer

To pass CCNA exam is very easy coz some f**king people
utilize their money & taking CCNA certification on 2nd hand
way. So once u pass the exam, don't expect that u gonna get
a high profile job. Coz the value of CCNA certification is
decreased from recent yrs. Grab the opportunity watever u get.

Thanx man. Cheers...

Distance-vector routing protocols advertise routes to
neighbors, but a link-state routing
protocol advertises a list of its connections.

Question { IBM, 6408 }

what is the distance betwwen link stae routing protocl and
distance vector

who have the best convergence toplogy

eigrp conatain 3 table name them

what the toplogy table contain

Answer

Difference between Distance Vector & Link-state Protocol are
as follows-

a) Distance vector protocol uses distance or hop count as
its metric to determine its best path to particular
destination, where as link-state protocol using current
congestion, cost as well as speed to determine its best path
to particular destination.

b) Distance vector protocol works by using Bellman ford
algorithm where as link-state protocol using Dijkstra algorithm.

c) Distance vector protocol sends update using broadcast,
where as link-state protocol sends updates using multicast.

d) Distance vector protocol sends periodic updates after a
regular interval, where as link-state protocol sends updates
if there is any changes in the network.

Note: Link-state protocol (Such as OSPF) sends entire
database after every 30 min.

e)Distance vector protocol sends it best route to other
router, where as link state protocol sends its links to
other routers.

f) Distance vector protocol is a classfull protocol i.e.
doesn't sends subnet mask information along with routing
updates, where as link state protocol is a classless
protocol, i.e. sends subnet mask information along with
routing updates.

g) Distance vector protocol doesn't support VLSM & CIDR
where as link-state protocol support VLSM & CIDR.

Thats all about difference between DV & LS. If anyone knows
somemore points thn plzzzzzz include...!!!

Question { IBM, 3766 }

can we configure multiple as on single router using eigrp

Answer

Yes we can configure multiple AS on a single router using EIGRP.

For each AS, EIGRP maintains separate set of information
table, such as Neighbor table, Topology table & Routing table.

EIGRP also maintains separate set of information table, such
as Neighbor table, Topology table & Routing table for each
Routed Protocol (IP, IPX & Apple talk).
