and applications running on wifi (network software) are
appliction software.

Wifi is technology that might include system or application software. Wifi has Access point (wifi router e.g.) which access point requires system software( drivers ) for it, while Wifi has stations ( clients connecting to wifi router) which have application configuring how to talk to AP etc.
