tnsname .ora file is not configured properly. it a listner
problem, we can resolve this by starting up the listener
manually

Check the MTU size of the ethernet ports are not set to
9126. Once I changed my MTU size back to 1500 on Solaris
server. The sqlplus to remote database did not hang anymore.

tns.ora is not configure.its a listener problem .we should
give an entry in listener.ora on which database
(service),protocol so it showin an error
