To insert a sum symbol (Σ) in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
1. Open your document.
2. Click anywhere you want to insert the symbol.
3. Go to the ‘Insert’ tab on the Ribbon.
4. In the Symbols group, click 'Symbol' and select 'More Symbols'.
5. In the Symbol dialog box, find the sum symbol (Σ) under Mathematical Operators.
6. Click 'Insert'.
