To lock cells in Excel 2016, follow these steps:
1. Select the range of cells you want to lock.
2. Go to 'Home' tab -> 'Format' -> 'Cells'.
3. In the Format Cells dialog box, click on the 'Protection' tab and check the 'Locked' option.
4. Click OK.
