To paste an Excel table into Word, copy the table from Excel by selecting it and pressing 'Ctrl + C', then open Word and press 'Ctrl + V' to paste. To make the pasted table fit automatically, select the table in Word, right-click and choose 'Table Properties', then go to the 'Layout' tab and check the box for 'Autofit content'.
