To pause or stop a Windows 10 update in progress, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options. Click 'Pause updates' and choose the duration you want to pause updates. To stop an ongoing update, open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), find the Windows Update service, right-click and select 'End task', then restart your computer.
