Click on the 'File' tab in the top left corner, then select 'Account Settings', choose your account, and click 'Change'. In the new window, click 'More Settings', go to the 'Connection' tab, and then uncheck 'Leave messages on server' and 'Use Cached Exchange Mode'. Click 'OK' twice and 'Close'.
