To create a transparent background in Photoshop, open your image, select the area around your subject using the quick selection tool or magic wand tool, then click on "Layer > New > Layer via Copy" or press Ctrl+J (Cmd+J on Mac) to create a new layer with the selected area. Delete the original background layer and save the file as PNG to preserve transparency.
