In Windows Server 2008, Basic disk supports up to 4 primary partitions or up to 5 extended partitions with logical drives. On the other hand, Dynamic disk allows for more flexibility, as it supports dynamic volumes, such as Simple Volume, Spanned Volume, Striped Volume, and Mirrored Volume.
