To set a static IP address on a Windows client, follow these steps:
1. Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click 'Change adapter settings'.
3. Right-click the relevant network connection, select 'Properties', then 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'.
4. Click 'Properties', choose 'Use the following IP address' and enter the desired IP and subnet mask.
5. Choose 'Use the following DNS server addresses' and enter your preferred DNS servers.
