The username requirements for creating a Virtual Machine (VM) in Microsoft Azure include:

- The username must be between 1 and 64 characters long.
- The username can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and periods (.). Special characters are not allowed.
- The username cannot start with an asterisk (*), a hyphen (-), or a period at the beginning.
- The username must be unique within the VM.
