if one drug is acidic in nature and the other drug is basic in nature, e.g. desloratadine is soluble in acidic environment i.e 0.1N HCL whereas Montelukast Sodium is soluble in basic environment i.e. .2% SLS. How can we choose a common media for there Dissolution?
Answer / Dinesh Kumar
A buffer solution with a pH close to neutral (around 7) could be chosen as a common medium for dissolving both drugs. This buffer should have the ability to maintain its pH constant even when acidic or basic substances are added, thus providing an environment suitable for both drugs.
