What is Dilation and Erosion?
Answer / Sudhir Kumar Trivedi
Dilation is an image processing operation that expands or widens the objects in an image by filling in gaps between them. It uses a structuring element to define how the object will be expanded, and its output results from the union of the original image and the shifted structuring element. Erosion is the opposite operation; it shrinks objects by removing their boundary pixels using the same structuring element.
