Which one is more efficient? A four stroke engine or a two
stroke and why?
Answer Posted / asdf
4 stroke is more efficient than 2 stroke in terms of fuel
consumption and emission.
But in terms of power, 2 stroke is more efficient. it
produces power in 1 revolutions of crankshaft than 4 stroke
in which 2 revolutions required..
Moreover, the world's most powerful engine is turbocharged
2 stroke diesel engine of around 1,00,000 hp developed by
Aioi works, Japan..
some one had made a mistake in the answers shown above
informing 4 stroke is better in power...

what will be the angular speed of a model of turbine whose dia is half of the real one and operating in 1/4 th of the head of the real turbine rotating in Nrpm.
In Rankine Cycle we use the concept of Tm(mean temperature of heat addition). In actual cycle the efficiency comes as n=1-T2/T1 Taking Tm into consideration it comes as n=1-T2/Tm as T1>Tm so the efficiency for both case will not same for a same cycle. Can anybody explain how it is possible? Advance appreciation for your effort. Thanks
1) Any pipe line working fluid may water / steam on it one manual isolation valve suppose one side of valve 6 kg/ cm^2 pressure (i.e. up stream) and other side is “ 0” kg/ cm^2 pressure(i.e. down stream) . So how much Tourqe required for opening the valve in terms of Newton force wheather normal man can open this valve. (for reference pipe nominal bore is 100 NB )
