Why we use vestigial side band (VSB-C3F) transmission for
picture?

If we use the SSB technique and transmit picture
signal,then some portion of the other side band is also
transmitted. This is due to the transition band of the
actual filter which is quite large. If the cut off freq is
1000Hz with a transition band of 2.5% , then 1250Hz is
passes through that band. This is utilized in transmission
of picture signals.
