The above answers I and II are opposit to the actual answer.
When you as a tester will be writing test cases based on
SRS, you will be validating the things should be like this
like that so that the client's requirements are met.
Actually Developers would be paralelly working with
seperately based on SRS.
Again when you get the build for testing, you will be
running or executing the test cases to see that the
application works as per validations or as per SRS. If it
deviates, you will mark test case as fail and changing it
to pass in regression testing if it is found ok then.
The first process is called validation. The second process
is called verification.
