Wave is not a single point but it is the graph traced by
moving point verses time. this is called as oscillation. if
the point moves same after 180 degrees then it is called as
sustained oscillation. if the frequency is decreases then
it is called as underdamped oscillation if frequency is
increases then called as overdamped oscillation.
