A standard measurement.
A Softwte metrics is a statistics describing the structure
or content of a program. A metric SHOULD be real objective
measurement of something such as number OF bugs per lines
of code

Scenario A year ago we developed a standards compliant website for a client. Their site is very popular resulting in the client wanting to be able to track how it is being used by their users.
