Why does it cost money to invoke a method on a smart contract?
Answer Posted / Alok Kumar Ranjan
The cost of invoking a method (or function) on a smart contract is due to the gas fees. Gas fees are paid in cryptocurrency (e.g., Ether for Ethereum network) and serve as an incentive for miners to include the transaction in the blockchain. The more computational resources required by the smart contract method, the higher the gas fee.
