Explain search factor (sf) & replication factor (rf)?
Answer Posted / Shashank Shukla
Search Factor (sf) in Splunk, as explained earlier, indicates how many times an event should be searched for a given query. Replication Factor (rf), on the other hand, is a configuration setting that determines how many copies of an event should be stored across multiple indexers for fault tolerance and data redundancy. A higher replication factor can improve reliability but may also increase storage requirements.
