when to use joins vs. Blending in tableau?

Answer Posted / Hukam Singh

Joins are used when you want to combine data from two or more Tableau workbooks, data extracts, or connections to the same database. Joins are useful when the data is related through a common key and cannot be easily combined due to schema differences or limitations in the source data. Blending, on the other hand, is used to combine data from multiple data sources that do not have a common key but share a unique attribute (called a join key). Blending can be more flexible than joins but may require more complex processing and could result in slower performance.
