Yes, it is possible to consume both Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services and standard web services (ASMX) in a Silverlight application. Silverlight includes support for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) calls through the .NET clients like ClientObjectModel (COM) and Data Services.
