POP (Post Office Protocol) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) are both protocols used to retrieve email from a server. The main difference is that POP downloads emails from the server and deletes them from the server, while IMAP leaves messages on the server and synchronizes changes between devices. Additionally, POP is less feature-rich than IMAP.
