In IBM AIX, you can remove a failed package installation using the 'smitty remove_software' command. This will present a menu for selecting the software to be removed. If the failed installation is not listed, you may need to manually remove the files associated with the installation. You can find the installed files by looking at the package log file (located in /var/adm/smp/installation_log) or using the 'find' command.
