How do I get microsoft word back to default settings?

To reset Microsoft Word to its default settings, go to File > Options > Add-ins. In the Manage section, click on 'Go' next to 'Manage excel add-ins'. In the dialog box that opens, clear all checkboxes and then close it. Go back to Options and select 'Reset' under the Advanced section.
