To change the background color in Excel 2010, follow these steps:
1. Select the range of cells you want to change.
2. Right-click and choose 'Format Cells' from the context menu.
3. In the 'Fill' tab, select a new color under 'Background'.
4. Click 'OK' to apply the change.
