Absolutely. SmartPlant Instrumentation supports aconcurrent
engineering environment in various ways. First, the
software allows multiple users, and controls changes and
revisions. Second, tools such as spec editor and process
data editor allow other disciplines to fill out data or use
data in a spec sheet interface ? a standalone application
from SmartPlant Instrumentation that acts as an integral
part of the spec sheet with data checking, drop lists, and
data import capabilities. For example, a spec sheet can be
sent to a vendor to be completed, or the process group can
be asked to fill out process cases. Also, SmartPlant
Instrumentation supports the use of thin client technology,
such as Citrix, for remote operations.
