HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) is a distributed file system designed to run on commodity hardware. It provides high throughput access to application data. NFS (Network File System) or NAS (Network Attached Storage) is a traditional file-level storage virtualization protocol that allows a heterogeneous network of computers to access files stored on network server(s) as if they were locally stored.
