NAT (Network Address Translation) is a technique used to enable private networks to connect to the internet using one or more public IP addresses. NAT hides internal network topology and allows multiple devices on the same private network to share one public IP address, thus conserving IP address space. There are three main types of NAT: Static NAT, Dynamic NAT, and Port Address Translation (PAT).
