Apache Cassandra performs two types of repairs: 'Normal Repair' and 'Anti-Entropy Repair'. Normal Repair is the automatic process that runs periodically to ensure data consistency across replicas. Anti-Entropy Repair, on the other hand, is a more intensive process that runs when required (such as after a network partition or high levels of inconsistency) to bring all nodes in the cluster up-to-date with each other.
