The SharePoint Web Part inherits from the WebPart class in the Microsoft.SharePoint namespace, while the ASP.NET 2.0 Web Part inherits from the System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart class. The SharePoint Web Part provides additional functionality for integration with SharePoint such as personalization and connection capabilities.
