What is the dipole moment of chlorooctane?

Answer Posted / Vipin Kumar Roy

The dipole moment of a molecule depends on its structure and shape. Chlorooctane, C8H17Cl, has no polar groups like -OH or -NH that would contribute to a large dipole moment. As a result, the dipole moment of chlorooctane is expected to be relatively small.
