What is a checkpoint in dbms and when does it occur?

A Checkpoint in DBMS is a point at which all the changes made to the database are written permanently to stable storage. It helps recover the database efficiently in case of system failures.nCheckpoints occur during system shutdown, manual checkpoint operations, or when a specific number of transactions have been processed.
