To create a .jar file, follow these steps: (1) Compile your Java files using the javac command. (2) Gather the compiled class files and any necessary dependencies into a directory. (3) Create a manifest file (MANIFEST.MF). (4) Use the jar command to package the directory as a JAR file, for example: "jar cvf <output-file>.jar .".
