What is difference between arp & rarp? How both of these protocols will work, and where it will use?

Answer Posted / Suman Verma

ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) is used to map a known IP address to the corresponding physical (MAC) address. RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol) is its reverse - it maps a known MAC address to an IP address. ARP works within a LAN, while RARP can be used across a network (like between client and boot server).
