In a network, both broadcast domain and collision domain are used to define how data is transmitted. Here's the difference between them:
1. Collision Domain: This is a network topology where multiple devices share the same physical medium (like Ethernet cable) and can potentially interfere with each other's data transmission by causing collisions when they try to transmit at the same time.
2. Broadcast Domain: This is a network topology where all devices receive every broadcast packet. In other words, it's a set of devices that share the same subnet and are connected through routers or switches. Unlike collision domains, broadcast domains do not cause data collisions.
