Why is html not a programming language?

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a markup language used for structuring content on the web. It does not have the capability to perform complex operations like control structures, functions, or variables like traditional programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, etc. Therefore, HTML is not considered a programming language.
