Microarrays are tools used in molecular biology that allow for the high-throughput analysis of DNA, RNA, or proteins. They consist of a slide or a glass surface onto which specific sequences (probes) are fixed at precise locations. When a sample containing the genetic material to be analyzed is placed on the microarray, it binds to its complementary probes, allowing for the detection and quantification of the analyte.
