What role does computational fluid dynamics (CFD) play in aeronautical engineering, and how have you used it in your work?

Answer Posted / Tarakeshwar Kumar Puri

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) plays a vital role in aeronautical engineering by simulating the flow of fluids around an aircraft. CFD helps engineers design more efficient and aerodynamically optimized airframes by allowing them to analyze various factors, such as lift, drag, and pressure distribution. In my work, I have utilized CFD tools to study the effects of different wing geometries on aircraft performance and investigate potential solutions for reducing drag.
