Heat exchangers are essential components in an ammonia refrigeration system, used for transferring heat between the refrigerant and air or another coolant. The process typically involves: 1) Evaporator: absorbs heat from the surroundings and converts the refrigerant (ammonia) into vapor. 2) Compressor: compresses the vapor to a high pressure and temperature. 3) Condenser: releases heat to the surroundings, condensing the hot vapor back into liquid form. 4) Expander or throttling valve: reduces the pressure of the liquid refrigerant before it enters the evaporator.
