To estimate the efficiency of a pump, you can use the following formula:
Efficiency (%) = (Power delivered to the fluid) / (Input power) * 100%
The power delivered to the fluid is calculated by multiplying the flow rate (Q), fluid density (rho), and gravitational acceleration (g) with the specific gravity (SG) and the height difference (Delta H) between the inlet and outlet of the pump:
Power delivered to the fluid = Q * rho * SG * g * Delta H. To obtain accurate measurements, you may need to consider factors such as frictional losses, mechanical losses, and sealing losses.
